Thornliebank & Barrhead Resource Centers – an update!

East Renfrewshire Greens were proud to contribute to the campaign to save resource centers in Barrhead and Thornliebank from closure. We celebrated East Renfrewshire Ccouncil’s announcement that they would no longer be closing one of these centers as a victory for the community, and remain hopeful that these vital services can be maintained.

Unfortunately, ERC’s latest proposals fail to match the aspirations of The Friends of Thornliebank & Barrhead Resource Centres campaign:

The idea of running these services from local “hubs” disregards the importance of running reliable services in a familiar environment – one of the main things that the Friends of Thornliebank & Barrhead Resource Centres have emphasized throughout their campaign.

As part of the Scottish Greens’ commitment to a caring Scotland, we believe that all people should have access to the best, most localised healthcare possible.  Scotland Can care for all our people, but only if we listen to them when they tell us what they need.

If you agree, please offer your support to the Friends of Thornliebank & Barrhead Resource Centres!
