Date and location of next meeting: Wednesday 7th October, at the Travellers Rest, from 7.30pm
Our next branch meeting will be held at the Travellers Rest in Neilston from 7.30pm this Wednesday. A draft agenda for the meeting can be found on our GreenTalk forum.
Please feel free to log in to the site if you have anything you’d like to see discussed or any questions about the meeting. Minutes for our previous meeting will be posted to the same discussion thread as soon as I get my hands on them.
*UPDATE 07/10/2015* The minutes are now available to download on GreenTalk. Please not that these minutes still need to be ratified at tonight’s meeting.
SGP National conference
There’s less than a week to go until our national conference, which will be held at the SECC on Saturday 10th – Sunday 11th October.
Speakers include Green MP Caroline Lucas, land reform campaigner Andy Wightman, broadcaster and journalist Lesley Riddoch, STUC general secretary Grahame Smith and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe.
Members from throughout the area will be attending the conference on both days. If you’ve not booked yet and fancy joining us at the SGP’s biggest and most exciting conference yet, there’s still time to do so – click here to book your place now!
The Glasgow branch have also organised a pre-conference social on Friday evening (immediately after the public meeting with Caroline Lucas and Patrick Harvie). This isn’t just for conference attendees – it’s open to all members, supporters, friends, family and anyone else who’d like to come!
Confirmed acts include singer-songwriter Becci Wallace and cabaret troupe Creative Martyrs. Please book your tickets here if you fancy a good night out and a chance to meet some fellow Greens before the conference.
What can East Renfrewshire Greens do for you?
Do you want to become more involved in local party activity but don’t know how? Are there any issues you want to see raised? Any campaigns that you’d like us to get involved with?
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any suggestions or questions you might have. Local members have already raised a wide variety of issues, from marine conservation to the campaign to stop the sell-off of East Renfrewshire’s sole public care home, so please don’t be shy about letting us know what you’re passionate about – no issue is too local or too national for you to bring to our attention!
We’re also conscious that the timing and location of our meetings (on the evening of the first Wednesday of the month, generally at the Travellers Rest) may not necessarily suit all of our local members. Is this an issue for you? Would you be more likely to make it to meetings if they were held on a different date, at a different time, or in a different location? If so, please get back to us on the above email address and we’ll take your concerns into account while planning future meetings.
Thanks for your time and patience, and I look forward to seeing some of you at our meeting and at conference this weekend!
