Are you free on Wednesday 11th March? Are you concerned or curious about the new Glasgow Southern Hospitals? Why not attend this Open Information Evening at 7.30pm at Newton Mearns Baptist Church?
The issue of transport links to the new Southern General has been in the press recently, with The Extra running a front page story on the topic:
Newton Learns north councillor Charlie Gilbert has raised the lack of transport links to area out with Glasgow, despite plans for a Fastlink service.
He told The Extra: “It has become apparent that the cash allocated by the Scottish Government is only for Glasgow. I have emphasised that there must be links, for instance for Giffnock and Newton Mearns, to bus services in Glasgow and on to the new hospital.”
As East Renfrewshire Green and prospective-MSP candidate Ciaran Roarty has said, “resolving the transport links to the new South Glasgow Hospitals is key to making those hospitals work well for staff, patients, and visitors.” If you feel likewise, or if you have other concerns you would like to raise, why not come along to the evening or leave a comment noting what you’d like to see raised at this meeting?
